If your Christmas list is like most, then it can get pretty expensive buying gifts for everyone.  You don’t want to leave anyone out.  By making your own gifts, it makes the gift seem more personal.
 
Making gifts for friends and family is giving something really special.  Most gifts that are handmade are appreciated even more.  After all, a gift that is handmade comes from the heart.

A great gift to make that is perfect for winter is a “winter warm-up basket."  It is simple, inexpensive, and delicious all in one.   All you need is a basket from the dollar store, a decorative kitchen towel, or tissue paper, packets of hot chocolate, and a mug.  Place the items in the basket and wrap with shrink wrap, using a blow-dryer to help the wrap stay in place.
 
Another homemade gift that is so easy to do and is great for teenagers is a decorative picture frame.  You can take small items like Barbie doll accessories, beads or even puzzle pieces and glue them to the outside of the frame.  
 
For little girls on your list, you may either make a small purse or purchase one.  Fill it with play-makeup, a brush or comb, mirror, tissues, and a change purse with some coins in it.  You could even place a toy cell phone and some candy or gum inside.
   
Whether the gift is for family or friend, choose your ideas wisely.  Gifts that are handmade can take some time to make, but will have a lasting memory.
