Personalizing a Wreath

If you are wanting a great gift idea for that “hard to buy for” person on your list, you might consider giving a special wreath.  Since a wreath is usually one of personal taste, take a few minutes to ponder ideas of what would make this wreath special to the person you want to receive it.  A fun person may enjoy something whimsical, whereas someone else may enjoy something elegant.

For example, if it is for the front door, you can do a seasonal wreath with some sort of name plate on it.  It always makes a home very inviting when the wreath says “Welcome to the Smith’s," or “Welcome to Our Home."  You can make these seasonal wreaths of most any description, depending on the season of year you intend it for.  Wreaths are a welcome sight at any time, not just at Thanksgiving or Christmas.  If you are wanting to give a gift for inside the home, or someone’s office, try to take note of their décor.

The most important part of making a personalized gift is trying to make sure they will be happy enough to use it after they get it.  Think your process out before you start.  If you just go ahead and make a wreath with yellow and pink flowers, no matter how beautiful the wreath comes out, your recipient may end up putting it in the closet because it doesn’t go in any room they have.  If you are not sure of colors, you would be better to stick with seasonal wreaths for the front door.  Some of these could include one with red, white, and blue ribbons and flags which could be used for Memorial Day, July Fourth, and Labor Day.  Any wreaths done in gold, orange, and green can be used throughout the entire fall season to cover Halloween and Thanksgiving.
