Christmas is the time when families get together. It is also time when it is cold outside and families must stay indoors. These games must be games that can include everyone from young and old. One way to achieve this is to play parlor games. There are several games to play such as the Thimble, Yes or No, Pan Tap the Pan, Picture Frame game and Pass the Slipper. There is always charades which everyone loves.

If your family consists of older children and teenagers then card games might be the ticket. Card games that are popular are Spoons, Crazy Eights, Ninety Nine and Blackjack. The cards games will go over great with grandparents who played these card games when they were young adults. The are board games such as Monopoly, Life, Clue and Scramble that many families like to play at Christmas. Some families have traditions as to when the games are played.

If there is an Xbox or Wii in the home, there are games for these machines that the whole family can play. Wii has many fun games for the whole family from golf to tennis. When there are little children in the family these games might have to be simpler or have and older person who helps. When all the kids get restless and it is cold outside, it might be a good idea just to go out for a little bit and play a game of hide-and-seek or tag. Once again if the kids are older then a game of touch football or basketball can be played. Whatever the games are that are played make sure that everyone in the family is involved.
