Christmas Stories

For centuries parents have been telling their children all of the different Christmas stories. They have been reading The Night Before Christmas to them, or telling them about Rudolph, the reindeer with the shiny red nose. They also hear about Frosty The Snowman, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and Santa Claus. These are the stories that go around the world and most have hidden moral values. They spread Christmas cheer and increase happiness.

Of course, one of the most important stories at Christmas time is the story of Santa Claus. Santa is also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, or Kris Kringle. Every country has a different version of what he wears and the gifts he brings, but they all have a version. He is known to live at the North Pole and is married to Mrs. Claus. They have no children but have many, many elves that help Santa make the toys for all the good boys and girls. Santa has a list that tells whether you have been good or bad. Tell your kids that they have to be good to get what you asked for at Christmas time.

Telling your child about Santa started in the 19th century. In our country, Santa delivers presents on Christmas Eve night after the children have gone to bed. This is where Rudolph comes in. He and eleven other flying reindeer pull Santa’s sleigh. Then they wake up in the morning and he has come while they were asleep. You can even go online and track Santa's progress by radar.
