When you think of Christmas, you think of snow and crackling fires. Well, maybe not if you weren't born in the northern states. Your old fashion Christmas cards would mostly have a snow covered house with the glowing lights and the trees outside hanging with white, fluffy snow. There would be smoke coming out of the chimney that would evoke a soothing warm feeling. There is also a down side to the cold, snowy Christmas scenario. It's cold, very cold.
Although the snow may be beautiful, it's not easy to travel to and from family and friends for fellowship and celebrations. This is why some would vouch for taking a trip from the cold to celebrate the Christmas season in warmer climates. This is a very popular trend in some families. Why not wait to take your vacation at the coldest time of the year and celebrate the holiday where it's warm. The idea of swimming and sunning in December is very appealing if you live in the northern states.
You can celebrate Christmas in the warmer climates the same way as you would in the cold. If you like a Christmas tree, they will be sold in Florida as well as in Ohio. There are some obvious benefits to the warm weather like putting the Christmas lights out when it's in the 70s and 80s with sunshine. Southern Christmas lights may include lighted palm trees and Santa on a surfboard. Instead of serving a traditional Christmas ham, why not try tamales. The warm climate is a popular draw for vacations and vacationing for Christmas may make some new memories.
