Hosting Christmas parties can seem overwhelming at first. Especially when it happens to be a company Christmas party and political correctness may be at its peak. This stress can be avoided by taking advantage of some party ideas and advice.
The first and most important part of having a company Christmas party is ensure that all invited know that this is to have fun. This is supposed to be a time to let ones hair down, put on their dancing shoes, and have a few drinks. The worst place to host a party like this would be at a fancy restaurant or dinner at the boss’s house, unless they have a disco ball and a dancing floor in the living room. The point is that fun is the goal. Another way to break the ice would be fun introductions, because not everybody knows each other. Even in smaller sized companies with only a few employees, people do not know each other personally and this is a perfect time to raise employee moral. By bringing everyone together, they realize that they all feel the grip of management, or the memo regarding shorter lunch breaks and a more conservative dress code. Another ice breaker would be door gifts and games with prizes for the winners. The games should be quick and simple. Another perfect way to set the mood would be a good choice of music. Be sure to include some foot-tappers and body-movers as it is necessary to keep the people moving.
These ideas are for anyone who wants to have a memorable night out with co-workers. Of course, for the higher-budgeted folks, yacht cruises, fishing trips, and Vegas nights are an option. Regardless of the choice of location, the point is to ensure a good time.
